FCA Sports, first to earn None Til One “Badge”

FCA Sports officially became the first organization to earn the right to use the None Til One logo with their commitment to leaving Sunday mornings open for faith and family, avoiding scheduling games and tournaments or practices on Sunday’s before 1 p.m. FCA Sports held its first youth sports basketball tourney on February 6th and 7th (and not the 8th!), each team playing 3 games beginning Friday night and ending Saturday evening. Teams and coaches circled for prayers before each game, led by an FCA team member, setting a tone of inspired and respectful competition. The “vibe” inside the Lincoln Sports Foundation (LSF) facilities during the tourney was uplifting. Youth, coaches, (and parents!) competed hard while remembering there is much more to life than a ball going through a hoop. The Lincoln Sports Foundation facilitated the fledgling FCA Sports by providing the space and help to get FCA’s vision launched - and with success! Over 50 teams participated and several were sadly be turned away as the response was stronger than expected. Plans are underway for more tournaments and more sports. FCA Sports hopes to provide a reduced cost option to participants, both in terms of dollars and time, while facilitating fierce competition with life’s “bigger picture” firmly in view. Special recognition goes to Zack Emerson, FCA club sports leader, who envisioned and executed the tourney with special help from LSF staff David Breetzke, and Tatum Casart. Way to go FCA Sports!
